Dreadball – A’teo Adysi MVP!

Another mini I’ve been looking forward to painting for a while is the Azure Forest MVP, A’teo Adysi, and I’m very pleased with how things went…

A'teo-Adysi-1 A'teo-Adysi-2

Inspiration hit when it came to the threat markings and I think it adds a wee bit more character to the mini, although I did realise after finishing it up that he has 360 vision which really means it should go all the way round the base 😦

Dreadball – Zee Team Finished!

My 5th Dreadball team, the Irn Bruisers, and their coach have now been finished and here they are:

Zees4 Zees5

I used the Gabe model for my coach, Mr. Barr, as I happen to have one spare who will eventually get done up for use as an MVP

Coach1 Coach2

As you can see I made up a logo for them imitating their inspration, the great drink that is Irn Bru. I also tried out some clear paints on the bases for something a bit different. I did this with a mix of the red and yellow from the Tamiya clear range. I’m pleased with the result and think it will be something I’ll do again in the future with some different colours 🙂

Next up will be some MVP’s 😀

Dreadball – MVPs out the Wazoo

MVP-Group

Well I’ve been feeling under the weather for the last few days, which is good and bad. The good is loads of painting has been done whilst I recuperate, the bad is I’ve not been able to get any photos to show all you lovely people what I’ve been up to :(. Starting at the weekend I decided to blast through the MVPs I have had sitting for a wee while, as well as the six(Blaine, Painmaster Yurik, Riller, Milesandre, Wyn Greth’zki and Nightshade) that I’m painting up for a mate in return for the Marauder and Corp boosters used to add the reinforcements you saw last week to the Slammers and Centurions. Anyway, enough blabbering from me, here they are…

Blaine

Blaine

This guy was a joy to paint. The model is absolutely brilliant. I didn’t want to deviate too much from the standard scheme, but a hint of turquoise always makes things look better 😀

Painmaster Yurik

Painmaster Yurik

Another fantastic model who I thought looked great in the Mantic images so stuck with that scheme.

Riller

Riller

This guy I’m not so much of a fan of and I think it shows in the paint job :(, gonna have to go back and do up/add a bit more to him until I’m a bit happier.

Wyn Greth'zki

Wyn Greth’zki

Was’nt a fan of this chap, but surprisingly enjoyed painting him. The scheme for this guy came from googling a certain famous hockey player (bet you can’t guess which one :-P) and matching the jersey colour.

Nightshade

Nightshade

This is probably one of my favorite MVP models, and also the one I felt was the easiest to paint. Won’t bloody well stand up though

Mellisandra

Mellisandra

I really hated this model when I first saw it, and this one sat tauntingly on my desk until last. But after just the first layer of turquoise I began to like it more and more (turquoise REALLY does make everything better :D). I think its because the studio paint job really doesn’t show off the details of the model, not saying it’s bad, just not right for this mini.

Number 88

Number 88

Another fantastic mini, and one I wanted to keep fairly simple.

Ludwig

Ludwig

This gentleman was painted up to go alongside my Z’zor team, but with a slightly darker green to add a slight variance. This one was a pain in the arse to be honest, the sheer amount of mold lines was ridiculous, and I kept finding more once painting had begun :(.

Wildcard

Wildcard

Being a Tron fan I loved this mini from the first time I saw it and could not resist doing it in the standard colour scheme.

The Praetorian

The Praetorian

And finally this massive chap(seriously, he’s bloody massive). This one I wanted to keep fairly simple and utilitarian, they are meant to be disposable combat robots aren’t they?

All that’s left on these guys now is a few numbers on the backs and some hexes (in the post :)) with the appropriate threat markings, and then it will be onto painting up my next team. I’ve decided to go for a bit of a Scottish theme on them which will hearken back to my first proper 40k force.

Dreadball – The Enforcer & Anne-Marie Helder Finished

The first of my MVPs have been finished and here they are:

The Enforcer & Anne-Marie Helder Front

The Enforcer & Anne-Marie Helder Front

The Enforcer & Anne-Marie Helder Back

The Enforcer & Anne-Marie Helder Back

I’ve also now got some extra MVPs to paint up for a mate, which I’m really looking forward to…

Bonus MVPs

Especially keen to paint up the Blaine and the Nightshade models as I love the look of ’em 😀

Dreadball – Dunedin VI Mega Bowl

There is going to be a Dreadball tournament in Edinburgh, the Dunedin VI Mega Bowl, in a matter of weeks and I’m getting very excited. The details of the day have only just been announced and boy, are there some good prizes. Here’s how its looking:

1st Prize – A copy of Dreadball Ultimate, Official Mantic league champion 2013 medal, official Mantic Dreadball trophy and Drake and the Dynamic Dinoborg (Limited Edition MVP)! In addition, the winner gets free entry to Vapnartak 2014 in York!

2nd Prize – Official Mantic Dreadball trophy and James “The Vet” Syler (Limited Edition MVP).

3rd Prize – Official Mantic Dreadball trophy and Chris Nord (Limited Edition MVP).

Best Painted Team – Box art Lithoprint signed by Jake Thornton.

Most violent coach – Coach Renton and Orcy.

How awesome is all that? Not only all this but the first 8 people to buy their ticket get a funky prize as well, in the form of this guy:

Gabe MVP

Gabe MVP

As you may be able to tell I’ve already grabbed my ticket to make sure I could get one, as I don’t think they’ll stick around for very long. The event seems to be much the same as the tournament taking place at the Mantic open day which I’m hopefully going to be going along to, so should be good for getting into the swing of things :D. I’ve already started to prepare the Gamma Slammers to be a bit more presentable, which will include some extra pose players, a brnd spanking new pitch and maybe even a t-shirt for the coach :).
