That’s the first squad of Pathfinders done. Now onto the next five and the drones….

Pathfinder Progress Part 3: Almost Done!
Thats most of the first pathfinder squad finished off, just need to add a little snow to the base which is tomorrows job methinks.
I’ve really enjoyed painting this squad, especially since its my first miniatures in years that don’t feature any metallics. This is something I waned to do from the start, as I’ve always seen Tau as using something else, something more advanced than mere metal, like the Eldars wraithbone. Also need to think of a good excuse as to why they are running around in a snowy urban environment in bright red armor, as Tau seem to be one of the few armies that understands how camouflage works!
Pathfinders Progress Part 2
Tau Spotted!
With the allure of the new codex I have decided to go ahead with a slow burn Tau army. Need to keep myself disciplined on this though. I will only be getting new models once the ones I have are finished, and will only be getting them to the table once painted. It’s my hope that this will ensure the whole lot gets done in the end. So without further ado here’s some pics:
Just a basic battlesuit here, I was tempted to go forgeworld but the pricetag really throws me off and I think the GW kit looks great with a few minor alterations.
The new Pathfinder kit has to be one of the best kits I’ve seen for a while. £16 from my local retailer and you get 10 excellent looking pathfinders, a recon drone and two other drones of your choice. Bargain! Admittedly the there isn’t much posability(its a word :D) to them without a lot of work, but I don’t think its even necessary unless you where going to have loads of the blighters.
At Ease Squad Finished :)
finished off the painting on the at ease squad today and very pleased with it. The whole force together looks great so will have to get an army shot together over the weekend. In the mean time I’ll be getting stuck into the Basalisk, all those flat surfaces are begging for something special…
Death Korp in progress
Death Korp of the Kreig update
Another update on the Death Korp of the Kreig commission, below are some WIP pics of bothe the Death Korp at ease squad and “Mons Meg” the Armageddon Pattern Basalisk.
The at ease squad will be getting a bit more work on them this evening, primarily adding the red to the armour plates, so you may see another update from later on. With the Basalisk I have hit a bit of an inspiration wall. To bring it into cohesion with the rest of the force I will be looking to add some red but am unsure of the placement. I’m certain the barrel itself will be red (historians now believe that Mons Meg was painted red in her day, so fits quite well), but unsure if it needs to go anywhere else. Time to have a chat to the client methinks.
Incoming!: More Death Korp
Received the first unit of the next batch of Death Korp yesterday, and am eager to get crackin. It’s the at ease unit, which is very diorama-ish, but a very lovely set of models. I also have a basecoated basilisk, named “Mons Meg”, to paint and will treat you to a WIP picture of that tomorrow.
