Dreadball – Marauder Commission Almost Done!

With the numbers added and straps done the Marauders are almost done :D! All they need now is the bases sorted (Hazard stripes for those) and something done with the small strip on the Guards shoulder guards. Although at the moment I’m still unsure as to what I want to do on those, whilst I ponder take a look…

As you can see I went for red digital number plates on these guys, and I’m pleased with how they turned out. On the prones I thought it would be cool to have them displaying a digital error message to get across they’ve been hit so hard even the electronics in their suit are malfunctioning 🙂

Now well on my way with the next batch of Death Korp. Squad number 4 is finished and includes some meltas that will likely be switched with some other squads to spread ’em out.

Next up on the painting schedule are two heavy weapon squads. This first one is the Mortar team, made using the Death Korp of the Kreig Artillary Crew and the Death Korp of the Kreig Thudd Gun Crew, and the remains of the Cadian heavy weapons box. I’m very happy with how they’ve turned out, and am especially pleased with the map bearing spotter :).

After a lovely long weekend its back to work on the at ease squad. Managed to get a little done with the red today, and am aiming to get the rest of the models fully painted by tomorrow evening, leaving just the basing. I hope you like!

Another update on the Death Korp of the Kreig commission, below are some WIP pics of bothe the Death Korp at ease squad and “Mons Meg” the Armageddon Pattern Basalisk.

The at ease squad will be getting a bit more work on them this evening, primarily adding the red to the armour plates, so you may see another update from later on. With the Basalisk I have hit a bit of an inspiration wall. To bring it into cohesion with the rest of the force I will be looking to add some red but am unsure of the placement. I’m certain the barrel itself will be red (historians now believe that Mons Meg was painted red in her day, so fits quite well), but unsure if it needs to go anywhere else. Time to have a chat to the client methinks.

Received the first unit of the next batch of Death Korp yesterday, and am eager to get crackin. It’s the at ease unit, which is very diorama-ish, but a very lovely set of models. I also have a basecoated basilisk, named “Mons Meg”, to paint and will treat you to a WIP picture of that tomorrow.
