The vendetta has had the last finishing touches applied, and is now good to go 😀
Forge World
Vendetta progress
Added some more of the details to the vendetta today. There’s a few black panels with red stripes, which I think have ended up subtle, but good for linking the vendetta to the other units.
The cockpit just needs a few more details added, finishing off the pilots for a start. But I also think I need the rim of the cockpit a different colour or it just blends in.
Vendetta/Battlesuit progress…..
Been working on the vendetta and battlesuit over the weekend. The main hull of the Vendetta is done, which to be honest is the bulk of the work. Still have the cockpit detailing, a couple of red/black sections to help tie it into the rest of the force, and the name, Cookie Cutter, stencilled across the nose (this will be accompanied by the image of the cookie monster).
I’ve only painted a wee bit more of the battlesuit, just finished off the blacks and painted any lenses. The next step is to add the sept markings and figure out if I want to add differently coloured sections to the armour??
Death Korp and Tau Update
With the Pathfinders finished I’ve found myself with a lot of enthusiasm for Tau, so I got cracking into the battlesuit. So far I’ve only done the red and basecoated the black areas, but tbh that makes up almost half the painting involved.
I also got started on the Vendetta for the Death Korp commission and it certainly is a beast:
More Pathfinders & Dave’s Awesome Raven Guard!
Decided to treat myself over the long weekend and paint the next lot of Pathfinders for my slow building army.
They were as much as a pleasure to paint as the last lot, with the interesting addition of a face ;). I’ve not had much experience with some of the more exotic alien skin, only really having done human skin before. I’m overall happy with the result but may go back and add some kind of stippled pattern or markings of some kind, just to make it a little more alien.
Also over the last few months I’ve been giving a mate a helping hand getting back into painting and wanted to show off the results and his progress so far. Luckily he went for Raven Guard, which meant a colour scheme that wouldn’t be too overwhelming. They still have a few finishes touches to be added but what he has so far looks pretty damn good…
Death Korp Lascannon Squad Finished!
Death Korp Mortar Squad Finished!
Whats Next?
So much Death Korp your head will explode!*
*This is a blatant lie 😀
Now well on my way with the next batch of Death Korp. Squad number 4 is finished and includes some meltas that will likely be switched with some other squads to spread ’em out.
Next up on the painting schedule are two heavy weapon squads. This first one is the Mortar team, made using the Death Korp of the Kreig Artillary Crew and the Death Korp of the Kreig Thudd Gun Crew, and the remains of the Cadian heavy weapons box. I’m very happy with how they’ve turned out, and am especially pleased with the map bearing spotter :).
And a wee update on the Lascannon/Autocannon team:
Death Korp Heavy Weapons Team
The first of the Death Korp heavy weapons teams has been built. These have been designed for ease of transport and wound reminding, as the weapons and the troops can be removed from the base. The client was also looking to be able to swap to autocannons if necessary, so I will be painting these up alongside the lascannons.
These where made using the gunner from the heavy stubber team (also a good way for the client to get all the meltas he was looking for). They weren’t a perfect fit for the lascannon, but with a wee bit of fiddling I’ve got it modeled so they look like they are firing through a veiwfinder/targetting screen, so a wee bit of lighting effect should make this a little more obvious once they are painted.
